How to register for the course?
You express interest in attending a course by filling out our short online form in which you define your area of interest. If you are interested in a language course and already know your language level before registering at Glota, that is all you need to do until we contact you by email about the further procedure.
What happens after registering for the course?
After you have registered and are not sure about your language level, you can take our free online initial test in English and/or German. When your results arrive by email, we will contact you regarding the oral part of the exam, for which we will book an online slot lasting up to a maximum of 30 minutes.
Your oral exam will be a relaxed conversation on topics at the level indicated by the written part of the test. We organize the oral part of the exam online or in person, according to your wishes and possibilities.
After testing, you can come to our office to sign the contract from Monday to Friday between 13:00 and 20:00 or request that the contract be sent by email, which you will then return signed.
What is important to know when signing the contract?
When signing the contract, you pay a deposit of 24 euros for the first two hours. If you do not like the course in those 90 minutes, you are not obliged to continue or pay any further amount, as stated in the contract.
How to arrange the course schedule?
After you have signed the contract and paid the deposit, you will be able to enter your final preferred time slot in the schedule (the one you were already asked about in the online form). After receiving the notification by email, you can reserve your slot online in the schedule visible on our website after a few minutes. An important part of your reservation is the number of completed hours, which is visible to both you and the teacher so there is no confusion about attendance.
It is possible to reserve a slot one week in advance and to cancel or change it, if there are other available slots that suit you, at the latest 4 hours before the start of that slot.
If you do not cancel the slot on time, it is considered completed. A slot can only be cancelled in exceptional cases.
What to do in case of illness if I cannot attend the group course in person?
If the rest of the group can attend the course and you are unable to come in person, you can exceptionally join the lesson online. If you are unable to follow it that way due to injury or illness, the teacher will arrange individual consultations by agreement so that the missed material can be successfully caught up.
How long does the course last and what is the schedule of classes?
Classes are usually held twice a week on working days from Monday to Friday, each lasting 90 minutes. Individual courses of 30 school hours last 2 months, while group courses last 4 months. In exceptional cases such as illness etc., it is possible to have the course once a week or by agreement.
What is the payment schedule and method for the course?
Individual courses can be paid in one payment or in two instalments over two months, while group courses can be paid in one payment or in 4 equal instalments over 4 months.
Individual lessons are paid after the lesson has been completed.
Payment is possible via mobile banking by scanning the QR code on the contract or in cash at the cash desk.
What are our teaching methods at Glota?
We always try to adapt to the student and work on the area that needs improvement, whether it is vocabulary, grammar, comprehension, conversation or written expression.
From our experience, it is usually weak oral production as a result of a lack of vocabulary or an ingrained fear of speaking in front of others.
We also work on the understanding of word types and grammatical structures of a particular language, which we will address systematically not only with classic textbooks, but above all with materials adapted to solving the specific problem, as well as tasks that students will regularly access online during the course.
